Roberto Graciotti

Cooming soon Roberto Graciotti, graduated with honors in Geological Sciences at the University of Rome La Sapienza, enrolled in the Order of Geologists of Lazio since 1980, has carried out professional activity in the field of aerial photogrammetry, geotopographic survey and geological photointerpretation until 1989.

From 1989 to 2019, hired as a geologist of the Geological Survey of Italy, he gained a long experience in geomorphological surveying, geo-thematic cartography and aerophotogeology. In this context he has created and coordinated several official geomorphological sheets at the scale of 1:50,000 and several essays of geomorphological cartography, at different scales of representation, in various environmental contexts of the national territory.


He was co-author of both the first Guide to the survey of the Geomorphological Map of Italy at the scale of 1:50,000 (Quaderno 4 del Serv. Geol. It., 1994) and the subsequent update and revision carried out by a special Geomorphology Commission (Quaderno 13 del Serv. Geol. It., 2018).


As part of his service assignments, he has carried out consultancy activities for public and local bodies, judicial authorities and law enforcement agencies, participating in working groups as an expert in geomorphology and photo interpretation.


He was a member of the Commission for the State Exams for the qualification to the profession of Geologist at the Universities of Rome "La Sapienza" and "Roma Tre". He has held lectures, seminars and specialization courses in geomorphology at various Italian universities and forensic photointerpretation courses at the invitation of professional associations and private companies.


He is the author of numerous scientific articles published in national and international journals. He has created a book dedicated to geomorphological survey and cartography and drafted some chapters, reserved for photointerpretation and geomorphology, included in two different books of Forensic Geology
